JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a person who can work with us at the capacity of Senior PHP Developer.
Key Responsibilities for Senior PHP Developer:
- Spearhead all engineering efforts in deploying cutting edge technologies in areas of MySQL, PHP (Symfony 2) and predictive analytics.
- Design and deliver a high performance and scalable platform for delivering content, algorithm driven analytics and social integration
- Build data processing components for semantic information extraction.
- Collaborate on new and existing features
- Creatively solve scaling challenges

Skills & Requirements for Senior PHP Developer:
Requirements:
- Deep-seeded passion to play an architectural role in defining new technology driven business models in education
- 5+ years of experience developing and implementing large scale big data solutions
- Demonstrated expertise in PHP Symfony 2 (nginx, MySQL, MemCache), jQuery, SASS/Compass, Twitter Bootstrap
- Proficient with Mongo-DB or similar large scale document-oriented data stores.
- The ability to architect end-to-end systems, and design specific components
- An in-depth understanding of algorithm complexity, scalability, and reliability.
- Deep experience with data modeling and database performance
- Entrepreneurial spirit and strong drive to innovate in areas outside the job spec
- Experience deploying cloud infrastructure, including AWS
Ideally:
- Expertise in CSS, HTML5, PHP, MySQL
- Obsessed with instrumentation and using data to inform decisions
- Experience utilizing Agile/scrum
- B.S., M.S in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Ability to provide hands-on technical leadership in a fast-paced small team environment.
